Believed to have been built in the sixteen century, Vasco House is one of the oldest buildings in the area. Located on the corner where Rose Street meets Bastion Street, in Fort Cochin, Vasco da Gama is said to have stayed here till his death in 1524 and thus the name. The glass-paned windows, lowly verandahs and balconies are very European in style. This bed-and-breakfast facility has spacious rooms with high wooden ceiling and large windows opening towards the historic St Francis Church where Vasco da Gama was buried.
